The 18th November 1989 is ingrained in my brain. I had travelled down to London with some friends, hiring a car to get there. We travelled through the night Friday, arriving early on Saturday morning, with very little sleep. The day was spent in the pub, where we met up with some London based lads from Aberdeen, joiners, plumbers and sparkies who had left the Granite City for the bright lights, and the cheaper and better class of drugs.

Saturday night came round quick, and the trek up to the Alexandra Palace was made. I purchased what was to become one of my favourite t-shirts from a bootlegger outside, far superior to the usual dross they sell, with The Stone Roses blazoned in writing across the front, and the concert date and venue on the back. Alexandra Palace London 18th November 1989.
